According to President Bola Tinubu, no ransom would be paid in order to free the kids kidnapped from Kuriga in Kaduna State. At today’s Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, which took place at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, the President made this statement.

Following the FEC meeting, Muhammad Idris, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, briefed State House Correspondents that President Tinubu had also renewed his instruction to the defense to make sure the children are retrieved and returned home safely.
He said that the present government is committed to combating abduction and other criminal activity in the nation, and that the President has declared his opposition to paying ransom to kidnappers. He claims that kidnapping—especially mass abductions—will not be allowed under the present administration.
On Tuesday, robbers abducted at least sixty people from Buba village in Kajuru Local Government Area, Kaduna State. Barely five days had passed when bandits stormed Kuriga, in the state’s Chikun Local Government Area, and abducted 287 pupils from the nearby LEA Primary School and Government Secondary School. This new incident took place in Kajuru.
